One of the most common issues we've encountered is sellers emailing us regarding a discrepancy between settled figures, and live figures shown on the Sales & Profit page.
A lot of the time, this is because of how our platform organises order data on the Sales & Profit page.
The Sales & Profit page organises two types of order data:
- Live: orders which have been created, regardless of status
- Settled: orders which have been settled
One of the decisions we had to make was how we could show sellers how much of their live orders for any given day had settled, and what the net profit was for that order, on that day.
We decided to build a dashboard which would incorporate settled data, but linked it to when the order was created, rather than when the order was settled.
This is so you can match live to settled data in real time, and have confidence that our system is estimating things like affiliate commission, platform fees, etc. Our system (as a result of TikTok's system design) does not receive affiliate commission figures, platform fees, etc until the order has settled - because of this flaw we have built a system that accurately predicts affiliate commission, and other costs in real-time so you do not have to wait for the order to be settled to see what your profit & loss could be.
So when you cross reference settlement data from TikTok, into Mergoio, the dates that TikTok give you for the settlement data is actually the time of the statement that TikTok issued, rather than the order creation time. For that reason, it is best to compare settlement data from TikTok, with the Mergoio page "Settlements" under "Analytics" on the left sidebar. The Sales & Profit page links LIVE orders to SETTLED orders by using the order creation date, rather than the SETTLEMENT date, which is when the order settled.
The Settlements Analysis page organises your settlement data by settlement date - as a result it will be the closest 1:1 comparison you can make with TikTok's settlement data on seller central.
Hope this helps, if anything is unclear, please shoot me an email at james@mergoio.com or reply to this discussion and we can dive deeper.
